Three Signs of Being Called and Sent by God: The Blood-turned Waters (3/3)

Exodus 4:9 And if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, then you shall take some of the water of the River and shall take some of the water of the River and pour it on the dry ground, and the water that you take out of the River will become blood upon the dry ground.
The meaning of the third sign, the sign of the water becoming blood, is that in the eyes of God all the earthly supply and worldly enjoyment (the water of the Nile) are nothing but death (blood). The water of the Nile represents our earthly dependency and enjoyment of worldly and earthly supply. All the supply, enjoyment and entertainment are death. In order to realize this, we need to pour the water of the Nile upon the dry land. Dry land being the source of from which life is produced (Gen 1). When they are poured out on that which produces life (the ground), immediately the death is exposed.
Exodus 78:44 And He turned their rivers into blood, As well as their streams, so that they could not drink.
Exodus 105:29 He turned their waters into blood, and killed their fish.
The very supply of that the world affords us is death. To the people of the world, the water in the Nile is wonderful, it irrigates the land of Egypt. However, the called one must see what the water really is.
It's not water, but blood (which is death). Whatever enjoyment that is supplied by the world not of God but is death.
1 John 2:17 And the world is passing away, and it's lust, but he who does the will of God abides forever.
God's called ones must be able to tell His people not to stay in Egypt to drink the water of the Nile, but to go out of Egypt into the wilderness to drink the water from the cleft rock.

Only God can supply life. Without God, there is no life, only death. If we see the world for what it truly is, it won't be such an enjoyable place to stay in. However, when we go seeking God in the wilderness, we can find the cleft rock which contains the water of life supplied by our God.
1 John 2:16 Because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.
Confused? Basically, all the sports and entertainment, culture, music, everything that people find joy in and indulge in today if it is not of God, it is of the world. If it is of the world, it is death knocking at our very being and keeps us from coming back and turning to the Father. It is a mere distraction to keep us occupied and turned away from God. Our Father is calling out to us, and is waiting for us to turn and go towards Him, but the world is full of distractions that hold us back and deter us from walking towards God.

God is life, and he is wanting to supply us of his life. The world is dying and with it all the worldly enjoyments, as stated in 1 John 2:17, only in God can we find a life eternal. We may be enjoying the entertainment and supply of this world, but while doing so we are dying along with the world. If it's not towards God, we are waiting for death, rather than walking towards life.

In addition to knowing Satan and the flesh, we have to know the world as well. The three signs given to the called ones are the very signs believers must heed and realize. The serpent hidden in the staff, Satan in disguise was the first sign. The hand turned leprous, the second sign, is our flesh that in unclean and has not been cleansed by the Spirit. Finally the water of the Nile turned into blood, signifying the very death the world is abundantly in supply of.

Satan is against Christ
1 John 3:8 He who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning.
the flesh is against the Spirit
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these oppose each other that you would not do the things that you desire.
and the world is against the Father
1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him; / Because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.
The Son comes to seek the fallen ones, and the Spirit enlightens them in order to bring them back to the Father. But the Devil works against the Son, the flesh strives against the Spirit, and the world frustrates people from coming back to the Father. Hence, these three negative things are opposed to the Triune God and His economy.

Those sent by the Lord, must know how to take the serpent by the tail, how to deal with leporsy and how to deal with the world with it's supply and enjoyment. If we want to be useful in the hand of the Lord, we must know how to deal with these three things. Only then can we qualify to become such called ones. In one whom God has called, Satan, the flesh, and the world have lost their ground.
Galatians 6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.
